About KBR

KBR delivers science, technology, engineering, and logistics solutions that help accomplish some of the world's most challenging missions. Our Government Solutions team supports Department of Defense programs through innovative software engineering, systems integration, application modernization, and enterprise technology services.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support critical Air Force and DoD information technology programs. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, developing, modernizing, and maintaining enterprise applications and mission-critical software platforms while supporting operational mission objectives. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with cross-functional engineering and program teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise web applications and distributed software systems.
Architect, develop, and support RESTful APIs and service-oriented solutions for internal and external stakeholders.
Build modern, responsive user interfaces using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and related frontend technologies.
Lead technical design and software architecture initiatives utilizing object-oriented programming principles and best practices.
Collaborate with Program Managers, Product Owners, Architects, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Support migration and modernization efforts involving legacy applications, cloud-based platforms, and emerging technologies.
Design, optimize, and maintain database solutions utilizing SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Redis, and related technologies.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, deployment, and production support activities.
Develop technical documentation, architectural diagrams, interface specifications, and software lifecycle artifacts.
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI-assisted capabilities, automation tools, and integration frameworks.
Analyze application performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability, scalability, maintainability, and user experience.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
8+ years of professional software development experience supporting enterprise technology environments.
Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core, .NET Framework, and object-oriented software development.
Experience developing enterprise web applications using Angular and TypeScript.
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and service integrations.
Strong experience with SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or similar relational database platforms.
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile development practices.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Salesforce technologies, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, Triggers, and Connected Apps.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise software systems and high-volume applications.
Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring developers, or serving as a technical lead.
Experience with cloud-based application development and integrations.
Experience modernizing legacy software platforms and implementing scalable architectural solutions.
Experience with AI-enabled technologies, proof-of-concept development, or automation initiatives.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
