Job Description
Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Ensure and maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational information systems.
- Participate on incident response team to contain, investigate, and prevent future computer security breaches.
- Work with the management team to assure alignment between data security needs as they relate to our core applications and technology.
- Monitor and audit access to and use of the organization's computerized data and information services, and reports any issues or misuse.
- Regularly interact with user departments to address security needs.
- Provide support for end-user access and permissions.
- Serve as a liaison with all users in areas of data security.
- Establish the working rapport necessary to develop cooperation and effectively integrate IS services with the enterprise, both owned and affiliated.
- Support operation of the data security systems for the facility.
- Troubleshoots problems in installing and upgrading data security systems.
- Monitor the overall performance of the data security technologies.
- Specify and set up appropriate network access for network users, and ensure timely removal of access for employees and other network users.
- Works with other application support staff to provide guidance on access integration and user access management.
- Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

- Some knowledge of health care trends, policy, regulatory and compliance issues.

Professional Experience
- Preferred: Two (2) years' experience working with a variety of operating systems, network security and data encryption technologies, and security standards; designing, implementing, and managing network/server/data access systems and procedures, working with customers and end-users to provide support and help solve problems.
- Preferred: Healthcare Information Security experience.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
- Any certification which expands Information Security knowledge is preferred.
