About The Role
We are looking for a skilled and driven Power Systems Field Engineer to support the installation, startup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical electrical distribution systems, primarily within high-demand infrastructure environments.
This position is well-suited for individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work, traveling to different sites, and independently resolving complex electrical issues while collaborating with a broader engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
SYSTEM INSTALLATION & STARTUP
- Assist with installation and startup of electrical distribution equipment
- Support commissioning activities, including system checks and performance validation
- Configure and troubleshoot control interfaces and HMIs
- Ensure all work aligns with safety standards and applicable electrical codes
DIAGNOSTICS & REPAIR
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to three-phase power systems, transformers, and distribution equipment
- Analyze electrical schematics and one-line diagrams to identify faults
- Perform structured root-cause analysis in active operational environments
FIELD SUPPORT & COMMUNICATION
- Act as the main technical point of contact during site visits
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical challenges
- Provide guidance and basic training to site personnel as needed
- Communicate updates, findings, and recommendations clearly through reports and discussions
REPORTING & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
- Complete detailed service documentation and reports
- Identify patterns in system issues and recommend improvements
- Track service activities, labor, and materials used
- Contribute to the development of internal procedures and training resources
Required Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of experience in field service, electrical maintenance, or a related role
- Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with 24V, 120V, and 480V systems, including breakers, fuses, and transformers
- Basic understanding of PLC diagnostics
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Willingness to travel extensively (75%+), including occasional short-notice assignments
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
Required Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of experience in field service, electrical systems support, or a related role
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems
- Working knowledge of 24V, 120V, and 480V systems
- Basic understanding of PLC systems and electrical components (breakers, fuses, transformers)
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
- Willingness to travel extensively (75% or more)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet pre-employment screening requirements
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting critical power or high-availability environments
- Familiarity with switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, or similar equipment
- Exposure to commissioning processes
- Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA training)
