About The Role
About Happiest Baby
Happiest Baby is dedicated to developing innovative solutions that help babies sleep better and support families during the critical early years of a child's life. We are committed to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and fostering a collaborative environment where talented professionals can thrive and grow. We offer a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization making a meaningful difference for families worldwide.
Our Mission
Happiest Baby is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Logistics Manager to oversee transportation, warehousing, and logistics operations across our domestic and international supply chain network. This role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of goods, managing key logistics partners, supporting wholesale operations, and driving operational excellence across multiple distribution channels. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented logistics professional with strong analytical capabilities, a proven ability to manage complex transportation networks, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service levels in a fast-paced environment.
About the role
We are hiring a Business Analyst (BA) who can do two things well. In the near term, you can step directly into hands-on finance automation work: rebuilding subledgers, automating reconciliations and reporting, and building documented, repeatable processes with Python and AI (Artificial Intelligence) tooling. Over time, your primary role is to serve as the liaison between Finance and our Business Systems and Information (BSI) group, translating business needs into technical requirements and technical constraints back into business terms, and potentially extending that same liaison function between BSI and our other verticals (Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Legal, Human Resources, Administration, Product, Medical Affairs, and Quality).
You are equally comfortable in a reconciliation and in a requirements workshop. You can build a solution yourself when that is the right call, and you can specify, coordinate, and test a solution that the systems team builds when that is the right call. You are measured on outcomes the business can rely on and on documentation and processes that outlast any single project or person.
What you will do
Serve as the liaison between Finance and Business Systems and Information group
- Act as the primary point of contact between Finance and the BSI group, translating finance requirements into clear technical specifications and translating technical options, constraints, and trade-offs back into business language.
- Elicit and document requirements (business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria) and keep them current as priorities change.
- Prioritize and shepherd finance systems requests, integrations, and enhancements from intake through delivery.
Build and automate directly
- Step into hands-on finance automation: rebuild subledgers that pull and reconcile data from disparate proprietary and third-party hosted sources, and automate reconciliations, roll-forwards, tie-outs, and reporting packages.
- Use Python (primarily pandas for data work), Excel automation, Claude for Excel, Claude Code, and agentic workflows to eliminate manual data handling.
- Design ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines and reconcile results back to the general ledger, with serial-level or transaction-level traceability where the business requires it.
Map, document, and enable processes
- Map current-state and future-state business processes, identify gaps, and design improvements.
- Turn every solution into a repeatable, documented SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) that a skilled business user, not just the author, can run.
- Train and support end users, and write runbooks and control descriptions so processes survive turnover and satisfy auditors.
Support systems projects, testing, and change
- Coordinate systems selection, implementation, and integration work with the BSI group and outside vendors.
- Plan and lead UAT (User Acceptance Testing), define test cases, track defects, and confirm that delivered systems meet documented requirements.
- Support data migration, cutover, and change management, and help govern AI-assisted and automated processes with appropriate review points, validation, and version control.
Extend the liaison role across other verticals (over time)
- As the role matures, serve as a bridge between the BSI group and other verticals (Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Legal, Human Resources, Administration, Product, Medical Affairs, and Quality).
- In regulated functions such as Quality and Medical Affairs, gather and document requirements with due respect for validation, change-control, and recordkeeping obligations.
What success looks like
- First 30 days: Learn the finance systems landscape, deliver two or three documented, production-ready finance automations, and establish working relationships with the BST group.
- First 60 days: Rebuild at least one full subledger from disparate sources (reconciled to the general ledger and documented end to end), and stand up a clear, documented intake and requirements process between Finance and BSI.
- First 90 days: A documented library of repeatable processes owned by the business, a healthy request pipeline moving through BSI, and a demonstrated ability to extend the liaison model to at least one additional vertical.
Required qualifications (non-negotiable)
- Demonstrated business analysis experience: eliciting requirements, documenting them clearly (business requirements documents, functional specifications, or user stories), and translating between business users and technical teams.
- Hands-on Python for data work (pandas), including reading from and reconciling multiple messy data sources, sufficient to step directly into finance automation work.
- Strong Excel skills, including Power Query or equivalent data-transformation experience.
- Solid working knowledge of accounting and finance fundamentals: general ledger and subledger mechanics, reconciliations, and how transactions roll up to financial statements under US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Comfort working with, and directing, modern AI tooling (large language model assistants, coding assistants, and agents) as part of daily work.
- Excellent written documentation and communication skills, and the temperament to work across many stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications (strong pluses, some teachable)
- Formal business analysis or project credential such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), PMI-PBA (Project Management Institute Professional in Business Analysis), or comparable.
- SQL (Structured Query Language) and experience integrating data across systems via APIs (Application Programming Interfaces).
- Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and general ledger systems (for example, QuickBooks) and with systems selection or implementation projects.
- Power BI or similar reporting and data-modeling experience.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CPA-track, or public accounting / audit background.
- Prior finance-automation, RPA (Robotic Process Automation), or systems-integration work.
- Experience supporting regulated functions (Quality, Medical Affairs) or a regulated (for example, FDA-regulated) environment.
Who you are
- You are bilingual in business and technology, and you enjoy translating between them.
- You care as much about the process being understood and maintainable as about it working once.
- You are pragmatic: you build it yourself when that is fastest, and you route it to the systems team when that is right.
- You communicate clearly with executives, accountants, and engineers alike, and you can teach.
- You are trustworthy with sensitive data and disciplined about controls.
Tools you will use
Python (pandas), SQL, Excel and Power Query, Claude for Excel, Claude Code, AI agents and the Anthropic API, Power BI, business process and requirements tooling, and the company's QuickBooks, ERP, and ancillary business systems.
Perks
- Private health insurance, in line with future arrangements
- SNOO for your baby for the happiest first 6 months
- A friendly office and a dynamic work environment
