Group Leader - Weekend Evening Shift (Fri-Sun 4:45pm-5am)(Saturdays 4:45pm-3am)

About The Role
YOUR ROLE
As a Group Leader, you are the DC Operations Supervisors right hand. You will lead other team members and coordinate workflow within the department to ensure merchandise is processed and shipped in a safe, timely, accurate manner. You are the primary trainer for new hires, teaching others best practices while maintaining a culture of safety. When not training or leading, the Group Leader will physically assist the team in material handling and merchandise processing.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assign associates to specific job functions according to production needs
- Be a 'Subject Matter Expert' (SME) on all department roles and tasks
- Be a role model leader for others; act with integrity and respect, approach responsibility with confidence and ownership, inspire superior performance, and develop a track record of success
- Coach, develop and train associates to facilitate duties and responsibilities; provide training & cross-training, in coordination with the DC Operations Admin & Safety Lead for new and existing employees
- Communicate information to department associates in an appropriate manner in the absence of the DC Supervisor
- Maintain an awareness of associates' production, quality, safety, and behavior to provide feedback to the department Supervisor
- Maintain safe work conditions and safe work practices
- Monitor production activities and, in conjunction with supervisor and/or manager, determine operational needs
- Promote and maintain high employee morale, customer focused attitude and safety. Ensure 100% compliance with all JSA's, safety training material and safety communications
- Reporting of production information related to the department
- Resolve minor processing problems; notify and work with the Supervisor as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend and stack cartons for the duration of the shift, up to 12 hours at a time
- Stand for long periods of time and walk continuously
- Pull merchandise from multiple levels of shelving or move merchandise as needed
- Climb stairs and perform work at platform heights up to 60 feet
- Lift and carry up to 50lbs. Specific weight requirements may vary within each department
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 18 or older
- Leadership experience with or without direct report responsibility
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, & planning skills
- Experience in distribution center operations or previous warehouse experience
- High school diploma, GED or some high school
- Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and strong attention to detail
- Intermediate computer skills including Google Docs or Microsoft Office Suite and Kronos Time-keeping Software Solutions
- Schedule flexibility, including nights and weekends
- Ability to step in and support other departments as needed
- Bonus: Bilingual in Spanish
