AWARE Social Media Educator

Job Description

This professionally minded individual(s) will help support the AWARE Peer Educators and CAPS. They must be available during daytime hours as well as some evening and weekend hours. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Meet regularly with CAPS staff to identify mental health topics, resources, and CAPS services to be highlighted through social media
  • Create engaging social media content, including short-form videos and text posts which draw attention to relevant mental health topics and highlight CAPS services.
  • Schedule posts across CAPS social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and monitor engagement.
  • Review basic analytics to see which posts reach the most students.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled at Mercer University during the 2026-2027 academic year
  • Experience using social media to promote various program initiatives (i.e., Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.)
  • Experience designing marketing materials using appropriate technological platforms (Ex: Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, etc.)
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, self-motivation and flexibility
  • Able to work both independently and in group settings with various Mercer constituencies
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong interest in educating students about wellness.

Pay Rate: $10.00 per hour
