Surrounded by nature, there are 56 pool suites. Combining eco-credentials and comfort, the design uses natural, renewable, and repurposed materials. The organic and contemporary interiors feature an open-plan bedroom, while the outdoor terrace leads to a private plunge pool for a cooling dip. Duties and Responsibilities

Wellness

You will fully embrace and safeguard the wellness philosophy, concepts, programs and brand initiatives. This includes spearheading and participating in our Mission Wellness activities. All aspects of these wellness initiatives will be adopted and implemented throughout the Finance department and its strategic planning and development.

Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do at Six Senses. As Purchasing Manager, you will support all directives on environmental protection and preservation, re-usage and minimum wastage, purchasing and packaging such as the abolition of single-use plastic. You will support the Sustainability Guidelines as they relate to the department and set goals to improve performance.

Operational Ownership

In this role, you will manage the efficient operation of the IT & Telecommunications department to provide exceptional products and services within Six Senses brand operating standards and budget.

You will work strategically with the Director of Finance to develop cohesive and productive goals for the department and establish procedures/guidelines to achieve them. You will maintain an overall consistency of the Company’s vision, quality/standards and develop concepts consistent with brand identity.

The scope of work includes

Purchasing practices will meet the requirements of the Six Senses nutrition and sustainability platforms.
Assess vendors and market.
Manage ordering, stock takes and storage to be done at the required times and ensure all stock is on hand, is of the right quality and properly stored in line with Six Senses standards.
Instill a fair and transparent Vendor/Supplier Vetting process and hold our vendors/suppliers to our Sustainability and Eat with Six Senses guidelines.
Purchasing practices will meet the requirements of the Six Senses nutrition and sustainability platforms.
Engage in local Farmers Market and make purchasing trip to local farmers, bakers and fishermen in order to help grow local community vendors/suppliers before choosing large global vendors/suppliers.
Manage cash float and receipt control for the farmer markets, local farmers, bakers and fishermen as they often are unable to offer credit facilities.
Visit our vendor distribution, processing or place of business yearly.
Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
Implement, review and maintain documentation, reporting systems, contractual obligations, security and safety protocols, communications, product and service standards.
Minimize payroll costs by maximizing productivity and efficient scheduling of hosts.
A high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene, plus comprehensive knowledge of safety, security and emergency procedures will be maintained by myself and all hosts in line with brand and statutory requirements.
Attend or conduct the designated meetings and briefings as instructed by the Director of Finance with a two-way flow of pertinent information and communications.
Perform any additional duties given to me by the General Manager.

People Management

As Purchasing Manager, you are responsible for the management, performance and development of all hosts within your department by providing direction, encouragement, enthusiasm, discipline, performance evaluation and counselling to build a loyal, productive and effective team.

Recruiting the right people is essential to delivering the Six Senses standard of service. You will work closely with the Director of Finance to identify potential internal and external candidates.

You will identify high-potential talent for development within the department and ensure Individual Development Plans are well executed.

You will always behave in a professional manner and set an example for all hosts. You will abide by Six Senses principles, core values, best practices, guidelines and objectives, while respecting other cultures and nationalities and promoting a positive, proactive approach to help build and maintain a strong, loyal team.

Responsible Business

All activities will be carried out ethically, honestly and within the parameters of local law. You will manage a safe and secure environment for guests, hosts and hotel assets in compliance with the hotel’s or owner’s policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. You will maintain relations with outside contacts and drive host involvement in community organizations, activities and businesses.

You are a personally involved, visible and proactive leader with excellent organizational skills, capable of providing focused direction and continuing to establish the company’s prominent position within the market. You possess a well-developed capability for strategic decision-making and a track record of proven results in the areas of customer satisfaction, operational excellence, host satisfaction, revenue and profit. You also have the ability to engage in a wide array of high-profile business and social community activities.

Skills and Experience

To execute the position of Purchasing Manager, you have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar or greater role in international hotels with proven results. You have a minimum of a Diploma in Business/Purchasing and Supply and more than three years’ experience in a similar role.

Technical skills include advanced MS Office, Outlook platforms and Materials Control (MC), plus you have an excellent command of written and spoken English with a solid knowledge of the local language and customs.

You understand there will be a requirement to travel for work-related meetings and events.
