Engineer, Journeyperson (Overnight)

About The Role
This is an overnight position, typically scheduled from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs, with or without notice.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will help maintain the hotel’s guestrooms, public areas, event spaces, and heart-of-house areas to the highest standards. You will perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, wall covering, and masonry, ensuring our luxury property remains safe, comfortable, and beautifully maintained for our guests and colleagues.
What You’ll Do
- Operate, monitor, and maintain stationary engines and mechanical equipment, including generators, motors, turbines, air compressors, boilers, and related building systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel, including guestrooms, public areas, event spaces, kitchens, offices, and heart-of-house areas.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests, providing courteous, efficient, and safe service.
- Conduct regular rounds of the property to identify and address maintenance needs and ensure all areas and equipment are operating properly.
- Respond to emergency situations, including fire alarms, power failures, and other building emergencies, following established safety and emergency procedures and notifying the appropriate authorities as required.
- Complete maintenance requests accurately and thoroughly, including equipment and meter readings.
- Maintain detailed shift logs and communicate outstanding maintenance issues, equipment conditions, and other pertinent information to the incoming shift.
- Track parts and supplies used and identify items requiring purchase or replenishment.
- Coordinate elevator service and repairs with the appropriate vendors and internal teams.
- Maintain a professional presence throughout the hotel and take pride in delivering a level of service consistent with a luxury hospitality environment.
- Follow all hotel safety, security, and operating procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Who We’re Looking For
- Certificate or completion of a technical, vocational, college, or university program related to engineering, maintenance, or a skilled trade; or
- A minimum of two years of related engineering, facilities, maintenance, or skilled-trade experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong working knowledge of general building maintenance and multiple skilled trades is preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and respond effectively to maintenance needs and emergencies during an overnight shift.
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the high standards expected of a luxury hotel.

The salary range for this position is $70.19 to $71.69. This role is eligible for bonus pay.
