We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to join our National Media Planning team in Manchester on a 12 month fixed-term contract. You’ll lead the development and delivery of social media strategies and campaigns that help attract great talent to Co-op and strengthen our employer brand. Working across both organic and paid social channels, you’ll use audience insight and performance data to deliver campaigns that make a big impact.
As a Social Media Manager at Co-op, we’ll look to you to work closely with teams across Candidate Marketing and Employer Branding, helping us connect with current and future colleagues in meaningful ways. While your main focus will be talent attraction and employer branding, you’ll also provide social media expertise and support on wider Co-op campaigns.

What you’ll do
- Lead social media campaigns that attract talent and strengthen Co-op’s employer brand
- Create and optimise engaging content across paid and organic social channels
- Use audience insights and performance data to improve campaign effectiveness
- Act as the social media expert for candidate marketing and employer branding activities
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, agencies, and external partners (e.g., LinkedIn)
- Monitor performance, share recommendations, and help to grow social media capability across teams
- Support wider Co-op campaigns and make sure activity aligns with broader brand and marketing plans
What you’ll bring

- Experience planning and delivering successful paid and organic social media campaigns
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, tools, and best practices
- Experience using data and insights to optimise social media performance
- The ability to create and adapt engaging content for different audiences and channels
- Experience using social media management platforms (e.g., Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Sprout Social)
- Confidence presenting insights and recommendations to colleagues
