About The Role
A manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Specialist to join its second-shift team.
This is a hands-on maintenance position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing machinery and equipment to support safe and efficient production operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical troubleshooting, PLCs, mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics . Candidates should be comfortable diagnosing equipment issues independently and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where minimizing production downtime is a priority.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing machinery and equipment
- Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and automation-related issues
- Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC and manufacturing control system issues
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic controls
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
- Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Perform minor repairs to electronic controls and equipment components
- Assist with general facility and equipment maintenance as needed
- Complete maintenance and repair documentation accurately
- Prioritize maintenance requests to help minimize production downtime
- Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment as required
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA standards
- Work closely with production personnel to identify and resolve equipment issues safely and efficiently
The ideal candidate is an experienced industrial or manufacturing maintenance professional who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting and has strong electrical and PLC knowledge.
This individual should be comfortable working across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems and capable of quickly identifying equipment issues and implementing effective repairs to keep production running safely and efficiently.
2nd Shift | 3:00 PM – 12:30 AM
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills are required
- Working knowledge of PLCs and manufacturing control systems
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic
- Strong knowledge of:
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
- Experience troubleshooting electronic controls and automated manufacturing equipment
- Ability to read and understand operating, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs while minimizing production interruptions
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with production and maintenance teams
- Ability to consistently work the assigned second-shift schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus
- PLC Technician Certificate is a plus
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Experience working with a variety of manufacturing machinery and equipment
Schedule
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 12:30 AM
- This position requires consistent availability for the assigned second-shift schedule.
