CADD Technician

About The Role
A multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking an experienced CADD Technician / Designer to join its team in Lexington, Kentucky.
This position will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other design professionals to develop detailed drawings and construction documents for a variety of civil and infrastructure projects .
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD , excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple design priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop detailed CADD drawings and construction documents for civil and infrastructure projects
- Assist project managers and engineers with conceptual development through final design
- Utilize Civil 3D and AutoCAD to create and modify project drawings
- Develop site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, profiles, and other civil design documents
- Create and work with Civil 3D surfaces and grading
- Coordinate drawings and design information with engineers, project managers, and other project disciplines
- Assist with the preparation of project specifications and supporting documentation
- Prepare construction quantities and assist with opinions of probable cost
- Assist with documentation required for permitting and regulatory approvals
- Create, maintain, and improve CADD templates, standards, and styles
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards
- Maintain accurate project files and design documentation
- Assist with the continued improvement and standardization of CADD processes and best practices
- Stay current with CADD software, tools, updates, and industry practices
Requirements
- Vocational certificate or Associate's degree in Civil Technology, CADD, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline preferred
- 5+ years of relevant CADD/design experience preferred
- Extensive hands-on design experience may be considered in place of formal education
- Current AutoCAD and Civil 3D expertise required
- Experience with Civil 3D surfaces and grading
- Experience creating and setting up CADD templates and styles
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical documents
- ArcGIS experience is a plus
- Field survey experience is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
- Desire to continue developing technical skills and stay current with evolving design technology
