Mid Year Admissions Caseworker - Ref: CH06126

Grade: G5; Salary range: £28,598 - £31,022

The Admissions Case Worker will deliver casework for mid‑year and phased school admissions, handling appeals and providing advice to parents, carers and schools. The role involves extensive liaison with schools, other local authorities and the public, and is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty.   • Process and manage mid‑year and phased admission applications and appeals.
  • Maintain accurate records and update the admissions database.
  • Liaise with schools, other local authorities, parents and carers regarding admissions matters.
  • Provide clear, written and verbal advice on admission policies and procedures.
  • Respond to enquiries promptly, ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Coordinate with the Admissions & Education Sufficiency Team to meet statutory deadlines.
  • Prepare and distribute admission notices, offers and rejections.
  • Monitor compliance with the Government’s English Language Fluency Duty.
  • Assist in the production of statistical reports and performance data.
  • Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working in an office environment with a strong customer‑service focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply admission policies and statutory guidance.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, databases).
  • Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the English Language Fluency Duty requirements.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and data protection standards.
  • Relevant qualification or experience in administration, education, or public service.
