Native Android Mobile Engineer

Attendi · Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

About The Role

Healthcare professionals have to spend too much time on administrative tasks when they should be spending that time delivering great care. Attendi allows healthcare professionals to report with their voice. This saves them precious time and removes the screen between client and caregiver, allowing more personal and effective care to be given.

As our Android engineer, you will play a central role in building and scaling Attendi’s native Android app: a voice-powered notepad for healthcare professionals to capture and structure medical data at the point of care.

Healthcare professionals prefer to stay close to their patients, not behind a laptop. As mobile usage in care settings grows, a native Android app becomes essential. That’s why we’re bringing Attendi’s voice-powered functionalities straight to their pocket.

We envision this app as the healthcare sector’s voice-enabled notepad: a flexible, intuitive tool for capturing and structuring medical data quickly and accurately—whether caregivers are at the bedside, in the hallway, or between visits. A thoughtful mobile strategy, seamless UX, and high-performance native Android implementation will be key to realising this vision.

Our mission

Attendi has built a strong user base with its API-first speech-to-text solutions and client SDKs, which are used and loved by healthcare professionals through our integrations with electronic health record (EHR) vendors. Currently, our users primarily interact with our products from within existing EHR systems. But why stop there? We want to give healthcare professionals the ability to benefit from our functionalities whenever and wherever they like.

Your Role

As our Android engineer, you will

  • Develop and maintain Attendi’s native Android application.
  • Develop and maintain Attendi’s open-source Android microphone SDK ( attendi-android ).
  • Build high-quality voice recording, transcription, and medical documentation flows for real healthcare workflows.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, frontend engineers, UX designers, product, and other mobile engineers to ensure smooth development and a cohesive user experience.
  • Take ownership of Android architecture, development quality, testing, CI/CD, Play Store releases, phased rollouts, crash reporting, monitoring, and user feedback.
  • Help shape Android-specific UX decisions using Material Design and platform conventions.
  • Contribute to our open-source efforts where applicable.
