About The Role

Embarking within MCB’s Risk Strategic Business Unit (SBU) is an exciting opportunity and establishes a solid foundation for a career in banking.

Within Risk SBU, the ‘Enterprise Risk’ cluster bears the responsibility, inter alia, to provide independent risk control, and is organised under four sections of which Operational Risk is a business unit.

By joining Operational Risk BU as Operational Risk Analyst , you will be called upon to assist the team in designing and implementing the management of a robust framework for Operational Risk within the Group to support a common set of control standards and reporting structures, build accountability and responsibility in line with the Operational Risk Policy and regulatory requirements.

Job Vacancy: Operational Risk Analyst

In this role you will

  • Attend to incidents reporting timely as per approved Policy while respecting regulatory requirement to contribute to the identification, assessment, monitoring and controlling of operational risk;
  • Conduct assessment, from an operational risk perspective, in respect of new products and services, and as well as for the day-to-day activities to ensure adequate control environment;
  • Build Operational Risk Cartographies to further develop and promote culture, awareness and ownership of Operational Risk;
  • Facilitate risk workshops with business lines to draw and maintain the operational risk cartographies;
  • Gather operational risk data that will be shared with other risk functions to facilitate the monitoring of operational risk within the Group;
  • Support the design, build and rollout of the Operational Risk Dashboard;
  • Perform data gathering and business requirements for Operational Risk to support future systems and tools implementation;
  • Carry out data mining and business analysis as required under the quantitative risk assessment methodology;
  • Use statistical techniques such as pattern detection, outlier detection, cluster analysis and experimental design to strengthen data analysis.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of

Either

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management or any Business-related field;
  • At least 3 years’ working experience in Financial Services, preferably in Banking and Operational Risks or transversal functions such as Audit, Project Management, Solutions/Business Architect.

Or

  • At least 5 years’ working experience in Financial Services, preferably in Banking and Operational Risks or transversal functions such as Audit, Project Management, Solutions/Business Architect.

And

  • Solid understanding of process, risk, and control design concepts and governance from an operational risk management or audit perspective;
  • Proven experience in MI and data analytics;
  • Knowledge of Risk Cartography methodology;
  • Knowledge of MS Tools and other data analytics and visualization tools (Power BI, ACL, R Studio, SQL).
  • A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.
