Embark on a journey within the Credit Analysis & Structuring BU provides credit analysis services of the highest standards establishing, prepping and devising credit solutions to various local and international corporate customers.

Job vacancy: Credit Analyst

Your responsibility as Credit Analyst will be to analyse credit requests of simple to complex nature and propose the most appropriate credit solutions to the coverage team of CIB for all recourse financing for clients within the portfolio of Mauritian and Regional Corporates, Global and International Corporates and Financial Institutions.

In this role you will,

  • Analyse, prepare, , initiate and follow up on credit requests of simple to complex nature by looking at the borrower’s industry outlook, financial risk profile, repayment capability and security profile and provide appropriate recommendations to relationship resources with a view to secure the bank’s interest, and mitigate credit risks;
  • Conduct periodic reviews of credit facilities;
  • Attend to all queries received in respect of approved credit requests to achieve operational efficiency;
  • Assist relationship resources in finding out the appropriate financing solutions to meet customers' needs through client meetings and by providing credit analysis services of the highest standards;
  • Keep abreast of best practices and updates in the sector and share same with team members towards the building of a learning organisation;
  • Comply with all relevant laws, codes, rules, regulations, procedures and standards of best working practice in relation to lending in order to minimize financial loss and protect the good name and reputation of the MCB Group.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of

EITHER

  • A BSc in Finance/Banking/Accounting or equivalent;
  • ACCA or other equivalent qualifications will be considered as an advantage;
  • At least 3 years' experience in Banking/Financial sector in credit analysis field;

OR

  • At least 5 years' experience in Banking/Financial sector in credit analysis field.

A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.

You will need to demonstrate the following

  • Financial acumen - Accounting Principles & Practice, Financial Analysis & Lending procedures;
  • Knowledge of Bank of Mauritius credit risk guidelines and of credit risk principle;
  • Understanding of socio-political and economic environment of local market/ international business trends;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
