About The Role
The Technical Services Representative Senior is an experienced technical professional responsible for leading complex, multi‑step application trials and ensuring high‑quality execution of technical activities within the Application Center. Operating in a factory‑like environment with industrial coating equipment, the Senior Representative independently plans and conducts advanced sample programs, troubleshoots application and equipment issues, and provides expert technical support to R&D, Sales, technicians, and customers during evaluations and demonstrations. The role drives process improvements, ensures proper equipment calibration and maintenance, maintains a high standard of safety and 5S, and produces accurate technical documentation. In addition, the Senior Representative trains internal teams, mentors junior colleagues, and contributes to the ongoing development of the Application Center’s technical capability and operational excellence.
- Lead complex, multi step application trials, including detailed planning, execution, process control, troubleshooting, and professional documentation.
- Prepare advanced and large scale sample programs involving multiple products, process variations, or specific requirements from Sales, Marketing, or R&D.
- Support equipment investments by providing input and operational insight to assess technical needs and site impact, and by performing administrative or ordering tasks related to equipment procurement.
- Identify root causes of application and process deviations and recommend actionable improvements.
- Recommend and support process optimization activities to enhance application quality, throughput, and repeatability.
- Assist internal and external technicians with correct use of industrial application equipment and best practice operating parameters.
- Troubleshoot application and equipment issues and coordinate necessary repairs with internal or external service partners.
- Support R&D with trials, evaluations, scale up activities, and technical feedback.
- Ensure routine calibration, verification, and maintenance of application equipment according to established standards.
- Maintain workspace, machinery, and process areas in clean, organized, and safe condition in accordance with 5S standards.
- Document trial parameters, process observations, and results clearly and professionally.
- Train internal teams, technicians, and customers on application techniques, equipment handling, and process methodology.
- Mentor junior colleagues, including Representatives and Site Representatives, providing guidance and knowledge transfer.
- Organize and manage material orders required for testing, sample preparation, and daily operational needs, including substrates, chemicals, consumables, and accessories.
- Support preparation and participation in trade shows or external demonstrations when needed.
- Adhere to all safety, PPE, and chemical handling procedures and promote a strong safety culture within the Application Center.
- Manage and maintain the inventory of materials, consumables, panels, and equipment accessories in the warehouse.
- Formal Education:
Required
Upper secondary technical education (e.g., vocational or technical high school) or relevant practical vocational training in industrial, mechanical, or laboratory-related fields.
Preferred
Technical diploma or university degree in chemistry, industrial technology, engineering, or related fields.
- Knowledge & Experience:
Required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial, laboratory, or manufacturing environments, preferably within coatings, wood, or related industries.
- Strong practical experience operating and adjusting industrial application equipment (spray systems, curtain coaters, sanding/curing processes).
- Proven ability to lead complex, multi step application trials with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting application or equipment issues.
- Good understanding of process optimization principles (e.g., application windows, viscosity control, film build, curing parameters).
- Ability to document technical work clearly, comprehensively, and in a structured format.
Preferred
- Experience working specifically with industrial wood finishing processes or production lines.
- Experience collaborating directly with R&D, manufacturing, or process engineering teams.
- Technical/skill Requirements:
Required
- Advanced hands on application skills with multiple coating technologies (WB, SB, UV, WBUV, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, including root cause identification.
- Ability to train internal teams and guide junior colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage several technical activities in parallel.
- Strong communication skills for technical discussions with R&D, Sales, and customers.
- English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Additional languages relevant to the region.
- Familiarity with workplace organization (5S) or continuous improvement frameworks.
- Travel Requirements: 10%
