Job Title: Senior Test Analyst

ROLE OVERVIEW

The employed individual will be challenged with access to a range of projects at clients across industries, ranging from telecoms to financial services. Working with other experienced technologists whose single pursuit is optimal value creation for our customers through the construction of peerless solutions, this dynamic self- starting individual will be schooled in the best practices accumulated through successful delivery on hundreds of software development assignments.

The Test Analyst assists with planning, developing and executing quality assurance and application testing.

The Test Analyst will work closely with project teams to ensure that the quality assurance process is executed and that all applications receive a satisfactory level of testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provision of an efficient service for the test analysis function through careful and timeous analysis, planning, execution, reporting and updating of all related information
• Design, develop, and maintain test cases
• The ability to perform both manual and optionally automated testing activities ensuring proper test coverage and the timely delivery of high-quality software.
• Optional automation of test cases to improve test efficiency and coverage where required
• Conduct test plans by unpacking the requirements which include regression testing, system analysis and reviews
• Manage testing defects and involve relevant business staff in quality assurance testing analysis
• Execute all test activities for allocated projects by conducting test estimation, prepare and submit test plans for sign-off and ensure alignment between test environment and production environment
• Conduct systems analyses, design, coding, program debugging, testing and security and performance assessments across user interfaces
• Deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions by resolving queries fast and effectively
• Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME’s, project managers and senior staff members by providing input to business requirements
• Build and sustain collaborative working relationships with relevant peers and stakeholders in order to achieve productivity synergies
• Comply, understand and implement all steps and methodology within IT development and meet governance in terms of legislative, audit risk and process requirements for the Test
• Continuously assess own performance, seek timely and clear feedback and request training where appropriate and needed

• The ability to analyse complex systems, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot problems encountered during testing or automation development
• The ability to interact with stakeholders, developers, and other team members to understand requirements, provide feedback, report issues, and work together towards resolving them

• Strong analytical skills to understand and analyse requirements, identifying gaps and potential issues
• Ability to derive test cases from requirements and ensure traceability
• Experience in test case management, test execution tracking, and defect tracking and generation of test reports
• Experience in logging defects, tracking their lifecycle, and conducting defect analysis including associated reporting
• A solid understanding of the domain or industry in which the application or system operates is important for all roles
• Proficient in Agile testing practices, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages for creating and maintaining optional automated test scripts
• Familiarity and knowledge with popular test automation frameworks for web and mobile applications like Selenium, Appium, Cypress or TestNG
• Familiarity and knowledge of scripting languages like JavaScript or PowerShell, and automation tools such as Jenkins or Git, for test execution, continuous integration, and version control
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful API’s to interact with web elements and perform web-based optional automation
• Knowledge of browser developer tools for debugging and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity and knowledge of version control systems like Git or SVN
• Familiarity and understanding of branching strategies and collaboration using repositories
• The ability to write efficient, readable, and maintainable code
• Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI to optionally automate testing of web services and APIs
• Understanding of build and deployment processes and their integration with automation
• Ability to p articipate in code review sessions with developers and QA Engineers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric
• Minimum: Diploma or required certification in testing or programming
• Preferred: Degree and/or relevant certification including ISEB/ISTQB Certification
• At least 7 year’s experience in Test Analysis for Web, Mobile apps and API’s
• Experience in designing and developing test cases and optional automated test scripts
• Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C# or JavaScript is advantageous
• Proficiency in using test management tools like TestRail, Jira, HP ALM or Zephyr is advantageous
• Basic proficiency in test automation frameworks like Selenium, Appium, Cypress
• Knowledge of scripting languages like JavaScript or PowerShell
• Knowledge of Jenkins or GIT for test execution, continuous integration and version control
• Basic proficiency of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful API’s to interact with web elements and perform simple web-based automation
• Basic proficiency with API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI to optionally automate testing of web services and APIs
• Familiarity with using tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab is an advantage
• Experience in Banking Systems & FinTech
• Experience in Non-functional Testing (Performance & Security)
• Ability to collaborate with team members and effectively manage automated test suites
