About The Role
The Job
For our Distribution Center in Tilburg, we are looking for a Team Lead VAS Warehouse. In this role, you will lead the Value Added Services (VAS) department, where daily operations include both automated and manual activities such as labeling, repacking, and other customer-specific value-added services.
As Team Lead VAS Warehouse, you will be responsible, together with three Team Coordinators, for the daily management, coaching, and development of a team of approximately 60 permanent employees, supplemented by varying numbers of temporary workers depending on seasonal demands and operational needs. You will ensure effective planning, clear task allocation, and a safe, structured working environment where quality, productivity, and teamwork are key priorities.
You will also play an important role in identifying, addressing, and preventing absenteeism and potential absenteeism within your team. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is confident, communicative, and able to engage employees in constructive and supportive conversations. You will report to the Head of Warehouse Operations and work closely with three fellow Team Leads, HR, and supporting departments to continuously improve the daily operation.
Your Mission
- Lead the VAS department on an operational level, coaching, guiding, and developing employees.
- Plan and organize work activities for both permanent employees and temporary staff.
- Monitor and improve processes related to quality, productivity, safety, and collaboration.
- Actively contribute to absenteeism prevention by recognizing early warning signs and addressing them through constructive conversations.
- Ensure effective alignment and collaboration with HR, Planning, Operations, and other departments across the organization.
- Adapt to seasonal peaks and fluctuating volumes while maintaining control over employee engagement, productivity, and quality standards.
Your Talent
- MBO+/Bachelor's level of working and thinking.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Team Leader in a logistics environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to conduct clear and respectful conversations regarding employability, performance, behavior, and absenteeism.
- Fluent in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
- Proactive, responsible, and capable of recognizing early signs of absenteeism or reduced employability.
- Affinity with VAS processes, warehouse systems, and continuous improvement of daily operational practices.
- This role is based in Tilburg, the Netherlands. Working remotely from other countries is not possible.
- To apply for this role, you must already have the legal right to work in the Netherlands. We will not apply for work or residence permits.
