About The Role

Airnorth is the Northern Territory’s longest‑serving airline, operating essential services across regional Australia and Southeast Asia. We are currently seeking a Network Operations Controller to join our Operations team in Perth, Western Australia.

About the Role

Reporting to the Network and Service Excellence Manager , the Network Operations Controller plays a vital role in overseeing the day-to-day operational control of the Airnorth network. You will be responsible for coordinating real-time flight operations, managing disruptions, and ensuring the safe and efficient utilisation of aircraft and crew resources.

Working within a fast-paced operational environment, you will help maintain operational integrity, support on-time performance, and contribute to a positive customer experience across our network. This position operates on a 7-day rotating roster, including early morning, evening, weekend, and public holiday shifts.

Key Responsibilities

As a Network Operations Controller, you will

  • Monitor and coordinate real-time flight operations to ensure safe and efficient network performance.
  • Manage operational disruptions, delays, and schedule changes.
  • Liaise with flight crews, ground handling agents, airport operators, maintenance providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Optimise aircraft and crew utilisation to maintain service reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Communicate operational updates and changes across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate crew briefings and disseminate critical operational information.
  • Arrange and monitor aircraft support requirements, including maintenance, refuelling, cleaning, and technical assistance.
  • Allocate flight crew and arrange replacements when required.
  • Monitor weather conditions and assess potential impacts on flight operations.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and system data.
  • Provide operational support and guidance to flight crews.
  • Coordinate aircraft parking, gate allocations, and airport logistics requirements.
  • Respond effectively to operational emergencies, technical issues, medical events, and security-related incidents.
  • Complete daily operational tasks, reports, and checklists.
  • Undertake additional operational and administrative duties as required.

Technical Knowledge | Skills

  • Aviation fatigue management principles and Aircrew Fatigue Legislation.
  • Experience using operational systems such as AIMS .
  • Familiarity with the Amadeus suite of systems .
  • Experience with flight planning software .
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic operational environment.
