About The Role

  • Assistant Manager - Human Resources (D P L Sports Glove Complex)
  • Dipped Products PLC seeks a dynamic, results-oriented individual to be recruited as Assistant Manager - Human Resources for it’s Sport glove manufacturing facility in Biyagama.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leading end-to-end recruitment and selection of factory manpower, including sourcing, interviewing, assessing, and selecting suitable manual-grade employees at the required time to maintain the approved cadre and ensure smooth production operations.
  • Planning and coordinating manpower requirements in line with production needs, ensuring timely recruitment and deployment of employees across factory operations.
  • Improving employee motivation by initiating and coordinating employee engagement and retention programmes, thereby supporting the retention of competent employees at DPL.
  • Ensuring HR-related compliance and customer audit requirements by maintaining and updating HR policies, procedures, and records in line with applicable standards.
  • Actively facilitating employee induction and onboarding programmes, supporting effective integration and continuous improvement of employee performance.
  • Managing Employee Relations (ER), including conducting disciplinary inquiries, handling employee grievances, and maintaining positive employer–employee relationships.
  • Monitoring and managing labour turnover and absenteeism, implementing appropriate initiatives to build a stable and performance-driven workforce.
  • Facilitating harmonious relationships with external stakeholders by organizing and coordinating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, enhancing the company’s image as a responsible corporate citizen.
  • Performing additional duties and HR-related responsibilities as assigned by management in line with the requirements of the role.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/ Human Resources Management or a related field from a recognized University.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant HR experience with prior experience in the apparel manufacturing sector/ Glove manufacturing ( Sports glove/ Industrial) being an essential requirement.
  • Hands-on experience in factory HR operations, recruitment, employee relations, manpower planning, and labour-related matters within an apparel/manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala.
  • Strong interpersonal, people-management, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with a strong results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in both team-oriented and self-directed environments, while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced factory setting.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of apparel factory operations, workforce management, attendance, absenteeism, labour turnover, and employee engagement will be highly advantageous.

Person’s Profile
