ProBind Operator
BR Printers is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined ProBind Operator to join our production team at our Kentucky Airport facility. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and adjusting ProBind equipment while ensuring production, quality, and safety standards are consistently met.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working with production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Set up, operate, and monitor ProBind equipment according to job specifications and production schedules.
- Read and interpret job tickets, work orders, and production instructions.
- Perform machine setups, changeovers, and adjustments to maintain production efficiency and product quality.
- Monitor equipment throughout production and make necessary operational adjustments.
- Inspect finished products throughout the production process to ensure they meet quality and customer specifications.
- Identify machine or production issues and notify the appropriate supervisor when additional assistance is needed.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and downtime documentation.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and maintain equipment according to established operating procedures.
- Monitor materials and supplies to ensure production runs efficiently.
- Minimize waste while meeting production and quality expectations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, machine guarding requirements, and PPE requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Production team members and leadership to meet daily production goals.
- Assist with other production or bindery duties as business needs require.
Who You Are
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, machine operating, printing, or bindery experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn specialized production equipment.
- Ability to read job tickets, work orders, and production specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Willingness to work overtime based on production needs.
Extra Skills That Set You Apart
- Previous ProBind equipment experience.
- Commercial printing or book manufacturing experience.
- Previous bindery or finishing experience.
- Experience operating automated production equipment.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a high-volume production facility.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds .
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, and repetitive movement.
- Ability to safely work around moving machinery and production equipment.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, printing materials, and varying temperatures.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
