Responsibilities
The Maintenance Specialist is a senior-level facilities professional responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving building systems and infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant healthcare facility operations.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, inspections, and installations across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, utility, and building systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex facility issues, including emergency repairs, to minimize operational disruptions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections to ensure system reliability and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and support life safety, security, infection prevention, emergency power, and utility systems.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal departments to complete maintenance and facility improvement projects.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, testing, and asset management records.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance and safety support.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, Oklahoma State Department of Health, State Fire Marshal, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Promote safe work practices, including lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space entry, and infection control procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or similar complex environments
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior maintenance staff
