Job Description
Role Purpose
Lead Visa Direct's Solutions Incubation and Growth Insights function, owning the identification, validation, commercialization, and scaling readiness of emerging growth opportunities. The role bridges strategy, market intelligence, commercialization, and execution to transform early-stage concepts into structured, scalable propositions while providing objective growth insights that guide prioritization and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Solutions Incubation & Venture Building
- Own the incubation of new Visa Direct capabilities, use cases, and business models where clear ownership, structure, or operating models do not yet exist.
- Evaluate market demand, strategic fit, commercial viability, operational feasibility, execution complexity, and right-to-win.
- Define business cases, target operating models, commercialization approaches, pilot constructs, dependency maps, and decision gates.
- Lead pilots, proofs of value, and market validation activities designed to de-risk opportunities before scale-up.
- Prepare solutions for successful handoff into proposition verticals, enablement units, or other long-term business owners.
- Market Intelligence & Growth Insights
- Build and maintain a growth insights engine across Visa Direct, including TAM, SAM, SOM assessments, market signals, client needs, and competitive intelligence.
- Translate market data into clear strategic recommendations that influence product roadmap discussions and commercialization priorities.
- Establish a repository of validated opportunity patterns, market evidence, and decision-ready insights for global and regional teams.
- Identify emerging growth themes, commercial white spaces, risks, and prioritization trade-offs across money movement use cases.
- Commercialization Strategy
- Develop early go-to-market strategies for incubated propositions, including narratives, target segments, pricing considerations, distribution paths, readiness requirements, and adoption plans.
- Define the minimum commercial, operational, product, legal, risk, compliance, and technology conditions required to scale each opportunity.
- Ensure new propositions are positioned for sustainable growth, measurable business outcomes, and practical execution by regional and market teams.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Mobilize resources across Product, Sales, Market Development, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Treasury, Partnerships, Operations, and Technology.
- Create alignment among senior stakeholders, clarify decision rights, and remove barriers that slow incubation, validation, and transition.
- Influence without direct authority, establish accountability, and maintain disciplined communication across global and regional teams.
- Portfolio Governance & Decision Support
- Establish frameworks for evaluating, prioritizing, funding, incubating, scaling, rejecting, or transitioning opportunities.
- Create executive reporting that provides transparency into pipeline health, opportunity value, commercial assumptions, key risks, milestones, and outcomes.
- Drive disciplined exit criteria to prevent permanent incubation and ensure ownership clarity at the beginning and end of each initiative.
- Provide objective recommendations for go / no-go decisions, sequencing choices, and investment prioritization.
Success Measures
- Solutions successfully incubated, validated, and transitioned to permanent ownership.
- Value and quality of the growth pipeline created or de-risked through incubation.
- Accuracy, clarity, and usefulness of opportunity sizing and market insight outputs.
- Speed from idea intake to structured go / no-go recommendation.
- Completeness and quality of handover artifacts, including business case, operating model, readiness plan, and ownership path.
- Executive confidence in recommendations and prioritization support.
Reduction in orphaned, ambiguous, or indefinitely incubated initiatives.
Qualifications
Candidate Profile
- Experienced commercialization, strategy, product, growth, consulting, fintech, or payments leader with deep money movement expertise.
- Strong business case development skills, including sizing, market assessment, commercial modeling, and decision framing.
- Proven ability to operate in ambiguity, create structure where none exists, and move fluidly between strategy and execution.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders across product, commercial, risk, legal, technology, and regional teams.
- Executive-level communication skills with the ability to translate complex opportunities into concise, decision-ready narratives.
- Commercial judgment, analytical rigor, and ability to balance innovation, execution feasibility, risk, and long-term scalability.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience, including significant exposure to product commercialization, growth strategy, market intelligence, or venture-building approaches.
- Deep understanding of domestic and cross-border money movement use cases, payments networks, client needs, and commercial models.
- Experience developing go-to-market strategies, pricing considerations, market narratives, distribution models, and readiness frameworks.
- Strong analytical capability with experience in TAM / SAM / SOM, market prioritization, competitive analysis, and portfolio decision support.
- Ability to simplify complex topics and produce executive-ready materials for investment, prioritization, and governance decisions.
- Proven track record of building relationships, driving alignment, and delivering results in matrixed global organizations.
