About The Role

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, we are seeking an experienced Group Treasury Manager to join our growing Group finance function to oversee and manage the new external debt facility for the Group headed by Global Academic Holdings Limited (‘GAHL’), including ownership of all associated accounting processes.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cash flow, liquidity, and risk, while also ensuring accurate financial reporting of our two new companies containing our external facilities and intercompany funding.

We are looking for a treasury professional with 5+ years post-qualification experience, who has strong experience in managing a Group debt facility and intercompany funding, whilst also being experienced in day-to-day financial accounting of treasury-related transactions within a large Group.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

Cash management

  • Manage daily cash flow and liquidity to meet operational needs across the GAHL Group.
  • Liaise with the subsidiary finance teams in order to prepare cash forecasts and financial reports for senior management.
  • Liaise with the subsidiary finance teams to oversee and transact intercompany treasury flows requirements to and from Group.
  • Responsibility for evaluating and mitigating financial risks, including interest rate and foreign exchange exposure for the GAHL Group.
  • Manage compliance with banking covenants, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with subsidiary finance teams to reconcile the cash position of the Group on a monthly basis to ensure accurate financial records are maintained.
  • Monitor financial market trends for ongoing development and implementation of cash management strategies to optimise returns, minimise costs and manage risks for the Group.
  • Production of actual and forecast cash and cash flow reporting for treasury management purposes and for senior management review.

Financial accounting

  • Responsibility for financial accounting for the two treasury companies, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of their monthly financials.
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts for the treasury companies.
  • Ownership for the preparation of statutory accounts where you will be the main point of contact with the external auditors.
  • Responsibility for the preparation of the treasury notes to be included in the consolidated GAHL Group annual report, working closely with the Group reporting team to ensure compliance with IFRS reporting requirements.
  • Be a key contact for the Group auditors during the year end audit.
  • Preparation of financial and covenant reporting in respect of the external facilities.

Other matters

  • Support the Group Financial Controller on ad hoc matters as required

Requirements for the role

Essential

  • Treasury or relevant accounting (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) qualification.
  • 5+ years PQE with relevant experience in the Group Reporting team of a large international organisation.
  • Highly organised with the ability to take the initiative, prioritise and manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Ability to communicate complex matters clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to engage and influence others, working with colleagues across the subsidiaries and head office.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and deliver process improvements.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and a resilient, can-do attitude.
  • Treasury experience working in a similar role for a large international Group covering liaison with external stakeholders and Financial reporting for a Treasury company
  • Experience completing Statutory accounts for a finance company under IFRS and UK GAAP.

Desirable

  • Experience in using Sage Intacct
  • Experience in using Oracle consolidation software
