Position Summary
The Senior Technical Product Owner, Claims is responsible for the day-to-day product ownership, configuration, and operational stewardship of Embrace's claims-vertical technology platforms. The role owns the no-code and configurable layer across the claims systems portfolio — including Ares (OCR / document intelligence), Apollo (auto-adjudication), Lightning Claims™ (pre-determination), InRule (business rules engine), CRM (customer relationship management), and WWF (workflow automation) — and partners with development teams when no-code work intersects with the codebase. The role reports to the Principal, Business Transformation.
This is a senior individual contributor role on the technical product ownership track, distinct from the administrative product ownership track. The role requires deep functional knowledge of claims operations and systems, with the technical fluency to translate business requirements into systems configuration, workflows, and developer specifications. Hands-on technical depth in specific platforms is a development area for the right candidate with the right foundation.

- Peer collaborators: Product Owners (cross-vertical)
- Cross-functional partners: Claims Operations, IT, Hexaware development teams, Rating Team, IPH counterparts
Key Responsibilities
Technical product ownership
- Own the roadmap, backlog, and prioritization for claims-vertical technical systems
- Maintain InRule business rules in partnership with Claims Operations
- Build, modify, and validate workflows in CRM, WWF, and related platforms
- Configure CRM settings, queries, and operational reporting
- Steward Apollo auto-adjudication logic and Ares OCR / document intelligence performance
- Manage Lightning Claims™ pre-determination configuration and outcomes
Developer coordination
- Coordinate with internal and vendor development teams when no-code work intersects with the codebase
- Translate business and operational requirements into technical specifications
- Validate developer deliverables against business requirements and operational realities
- Manage dependencies and handoffs between configurable and developed components
Operational stewardship
- Triage and remediate day-to-day claims processing impacts on owned platforms
- Partner with the CRM stabilization team on root-cause remediation
- Monitor platform performance and proactively surface degradation
- Maintain documentation for systems, rules logic, workflows, and configuration
Cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate with Product Owners on cross-vertical initiatives and dependencies
- Escalate platform-level or strategic issues to the Principal, Business Transformation
- Partner with Claims Operations on business requirements, process design, and adoption
- Serve as a technical SME in enterprise prioritization discussions
Required Experience and Skills
- 5+ years in claims operations, insurance technology, or business systems roles with significant exposure to the systems that support day-to-day claims work
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing workflows in CRM or equivalent platforms
- Deep functional knowledge of end-to-end claims processing and the systems that support it
- Proven ability to translate business and operational requirements into systems specifications
- Strong business logic, process design, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to develop hands-on technical proficiency in rules engines, workflow automation, and related platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across business and technical audiences
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, information systems, or a related field — or equivalent experience
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Direct hands-on experience with a business rules engine (InRule, Drools, Pega, or equivalent)
- Workflow automation depth (Windows Workflow Foundation, Camunda, or equivalent)
- SQL or similar query language proficiency
- OCR / document intelligence platform experience
- Exposure to LLM-powered or AI-assisted systems in production
- Pet or property and casualty insurance experience
- Agile / Scrum product ownership certification (CSPO or equivalent)
- Experience in a multi-entity or private-equity-backed organizational structure
