About The Role
Join Fugro's Structural Monitoring team and play a hands-on role in delivering critical monitoring solutions that help clients make informed decisions about the safety, performance, and integrity of their assets. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced monitoring technologies across offshore and onshore environments worldwide.
You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and support of structural monitoring systems on client assets, whilst working closely with customers, project teams, and technical specialists. Regular international travel, including assignments in Africa and the Middle East, forms an integral part of the role.
Your role and responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain structural monitoring systems on offshore and onshore client sites;
- Carry out mechanical and electrical installation activities in accordance with company procedures and client requirements;
- Perform site surveys, equipment inspections, maintenance activities, battery replacements, and data downloads;
- Support workshop activities including equipment assembly, preparation, factory acceptance testing, and mobilisation activities;
- Communicate effectively with clients, vessel personnel, rig staff, and internal project teams regarding operational progress and technical matters;
- Adhere to Fugro and client health, safety, and environmental requirements, including risk assessment and reporting processes;
- Complete accurate trip reports and documentation following site activities;
- Contribute ideas that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and service delivery;
What you will need to thrive
- Experience installing and commissioning monitoring systems, instrumentation systems, or similar equipment in offshore or field-based environments;
- Practical electrical and mechanical installation experience;
- Experience testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning electronic equipment, sensors, data acquisition systems, or related technologies;
- Competence using Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems;
- Ability to prepare technical reports and complete documentation to a high standard;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues;
- A positive safety mindset and commitment to safe working practices;
- A proactive, practical approach with a willingness to learn new technical skills;
- A valid driving licence;
- Ability to undertake regular international travel and obtain offshore certification and medical clearance as required
Desirable
- HND or higher qualification in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline;
- BOSIET and MIST certification;
- Experience working with hazardous area equipment or CompEx certification;
- Experience within offshore energy, marine, infrastructure monitoring, or related sectors
