About The Role

Job Summary

  • The ETSU Dental Hygiene Program is seeking a PRN dentist to provide clinical instruction and supervision of dental hygiene students in the Dental Hygiene Clinic.
  • Responsibilities include
  • clinical supervision
  • reviewing patient medical histories
  • evaluating student assessments of new patients
  • supervising local anesthesia injections
  • evaluating radiographs
  • evaluating pathology
  • discussing the need for referral with patients
  • serving as a dental and medical resource for students and dental hygiene faculty and taking the lead in the event of a medical emergency
  • supervising sealant placement and occlusal adjustments
  • assisting students with nightguards, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed dentist in the state of Tennessee
  • Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff and patients with diverse backgrounds

Employment is contingent upon student enrollment, program needs, and applicant’s availability on scheduled clinic days each semester. Program needs may vary each semester, so employment is not guaranteed each semester. This posting may remain open to retain a pool of instructors.

Compensation

  • Salary - $75.00 per hour
