About The Role

Job Summary

  • Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on Generator or component at the customer site with minimal direction.

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following

  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
  • Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

(Entry)

  • Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.
  • Basic Diesel Engine experience.
  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on diesel and gas generator sets, transfer switches, and related power generation equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and operational checks while accurately completing service documentation and reporting.
  • Support senior technicians with troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Learn and follow established service procedures, safety requirements, and troubleshooting practices.
  • Maintain tools, service vehicles, and work areas in a safe and professional manner.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 0-2 years of experience in power generation, diesel engines, automotive repair, industrial maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical documents, wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, multimeters, and basic diagnostic equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications

  • Technical school training or certification in diesel technology, electrical systems, automotive technology, or power generation.
  • Exposure to generator systems, transfer switches (ATS), or industrial electrical equipment.
  • Experience in a field service, construction, manufacturing, or maintenance environment.

Additional

  • Current valid driver's license required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with 2 years of driving experience.
  • Must meet company motor vehicle record (MVR) requirements with no major violations.
  • CDL may be required based on business needs.
  • Federal law requires CDL holders to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Willingness to participate in training programs, emergency response work, and on-call rotations as required.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and work around power generation equipment in industrial and outdoor environments.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)

  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Current relevant electrical certification
  • Locally valid driving permit
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
