About The Role

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Jotun South East Asia & Pacific (SEAP) Regional Office is looking for Maintenance Technician (Electrical) that responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the SEAP R&D Centre’s building services, electrical installations, laboratory-support utilities and facility equipment. This position will be responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, support statutory compliance, coordinate specialist contractors and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or facility emergencies.

This position will be reporting to the Facility Manager and will be based in Glenmarie Shah Alam, Selangor.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect and maintain low-voltage electrical systems, including switchboards, generators, UPS, ATS/AMF panels, capacitor banks and earthing systems.
  • Carry out routine electrical inspections, readings, testing and troubleshooting to identify faults, abnormal conditions and power interruptions.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, pumps, doors and other building services.
  • Inspect plant rooms and facility equipment regularly to identify abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, leakage or other potential issues.
  • Support the installation, relocation and commissioning of laboratory equipment and related utility connections.
  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance contractors and service providers, ensuring work is completed safely and according to site requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety, Lockout/Tagout, Permit-to-Work and statutory requirements, including supporting inspections by relevant authorities.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and facility emergencies, including electrical failures, alarms, water leaks and power interruptions, and support emergency power restoration and generator operation.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, statutory certificates, service records and equipment logbooks, and ensure maintenance areas are clean, secure and organized.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant maintenance experience in commercial, industrial, research, laboratory or manufacturing facilities.
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Building Services or a related discipline.
  • A valid Chargeman A4 Certificate of Competency issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga is preferred.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Permit-to-Work, Lockout/Tagout, preventive maintenance and contractor-management practices.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English is required.
