Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company is seeking an Engineering Technician II in Lexington Park, MD . Greenfield Engineering provides critical support to Department of Defense customers through engineering, test and evaluation, and technical services. Position Type: Full-Time
- Salary: $60k-$80k (depending on experience)
- Work Location: Onsite.
Essential Functions
- Fabricate, assemble, and test cable and wire harness assemblies for avionics test benches.
- Assemble military-style circular connectors and cable assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, schematics, wire lists, and technical documentation.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to support production and installation activities.
- Assist engineers with installation, verification, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cable plant systems and test bench configurations.
- Perform continuity checks, cable verification, and troubleshooting activities utilizing General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) and Special Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (SPETE).
- Diagnose and repair wiring, connector, and cable assembly issues.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with established technical procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, assembly procedures, and maintenance records as required.
- Assist in the verification and validation of cable plant installations and engineering modifications.
- Safely operate common and specialty hand tools required to perform assembly and maintenance activities.
- Lift and move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Required
- 2–3 years of experience in cable assembly, electrical assembly, avionics support, or a related technical field.
- Experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
- Experience fabricating cable and wire assemblies, including MIL-STD-1553 cables and military-style circular connectors.
- Experience using common hand tools and electronic test equipment to assemble, troubleshoot, and repair wiring and cable assemblies.
- Ability to distinguish wire and cable color codes.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Desired
- Experience supporting Navy or Department of Defense programs.
- Experience with avionics systems or test bench environments.
- Familiarity with cable plant installation and verification activities.
Education/Years of Experience
HS Diploma or GED required and2–3 years of experience in cable assembly, electrical assembly, avionics support, or a related technical field.
Security Clearance
Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
