Job Description

The WT Sydney office continues to grow with high-profile new engagements landing across a broad range of sectors and with existing major projects underway and more in the pipeline, we’re on the lookout for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the growing team.

This role will perform various traditional quantity surveying functions including estimating, planning and cost management, cost monitoring, and accurate and timely financial reporting whilst exercising sound financial acumen with a key focus on proactively maximising value for our clients.

This role is responsible for

  • Liaising with clients, architects and main contractors
  • Identifying and facilitating new business opportunities
  • Master-plan and feasibility budgets
  • Cost checking of developing design
  • Value engineering
  • Tender evaluations and analysis
  • Contract negotiations
  • Cash flow projects

Procurement

  • Cost reporting
  • Evaluation of variations

Valuations

  • Final account reporting
  • Claims preparation, presentation, negotiation and settlement of claims
  • Investment analysis
  • Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes to improve the consistency, accuracy and time to prepare cost models and plans

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in any of the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Full Australian working rights and currently located in Australia
  • RICS / AIQS accredited candidates will be highly regarded
  • Proficient in the use of Cost X
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through to completion and post-project review
  • Highly motivated with a passion for delivering excellence to clients
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage a team and control multiple projects/client commissions
