What You'll Do
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you'll partner with the Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care by:
- Implementing individualized treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), self-care skills, upper extremity function, balance, coordination, and mobility
- Educating patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment
- Documenting patient progress accurately and efficiently
- Collaborating with OTs, PTs, PTAs, SLPs, nursing staff, and physicians
- Encouraging patients to reach their highest level of independence and function
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current Michigan Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) license or eligibility for licensure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in Skilled Nursing (SNF), Post-Acute Care, Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, Home Health, or Outpatient Therapy is a plus, but not required
- New graduates are welcome to apply
