About The Role

The UPS Commissioning Specialist will be responsible for supporting the installation, integration, start-up, testing, and commissioning of UPS systems and associated battery cabinets on site.

Key responsibilities include

  • Verify delivered UPS equipment, I/O cabinets, battery modules, and accessories against the approved Bill of Materials
  • Report any missing, damaged, or non-compliant items before work starts
  • Support the integration of I/O cabinets with UPS systems, including busbar connections, control wiring, and communication interfaces
  • Carry out UPS and battery cabinet anchoring, installation, and cable termination activities
  • Perform battery module inspections, including visual checks, serial number verification, voltage measurement, and impedance testing
  • Record and maintain test results for project documentation
  • Perform battery balancing and interconnection of battery modules when required
  • Connect control and communication cables in line with approved wiring diagrams
  • Perform UPS start-up and energization activities
  • Update UPS firmware where applicable
  • Verify UPS operation in Normal Mode, Static Bypass Mode, Maintenance Bypass Mode, and Battery Mode
  • Perform functional tests and confirm system performance
  • Verify UPS output voltage, waveform, battery voltages, alarms, and operating parameters
  • Prepare and provide start-up, post-charging, and testing reports
  • Support Level 4 and Level 5 testing activities, including monitoring, troubleshooting, fault analysis, and technical recommendations
  • Proven experience in UPS installation, testing, start-up, and commissioning
  • Strong knowledge of UPS systems, battery cabinets, lithium battery modules, control wiring, and communication interfaces
  • Experience with battery inspections, voltage measurements, impedance testing, battery balancing, and post-charging verification
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and approved test procedures
  • Experience supporting functional testing, burn-in tests, battery autonomy tests, and commissioning validation
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to respond to alarms or abnormal operating conditions
  • Good reporting discipline and ability to prepare technical documentation and test records
  • Strong HSE awareness and ability to work safely on electrical systems
  • Fluent English is required
  • Location: Khazna Site – Ajman, United Arab Emirates
  • Working schedule: Resident, 6 days per week / rotation 4x1
  • Start date: 1 October 2026
