Senior Full-Stack / AI Platform Engineer
Intuitive · Sunnyvale, CA, United States
About The Role
- Intuitive is building a new AI-powered platform to support how our teams work day to day — combining a
- modern web application, cloud-native backend services, and generative AI to make information easier to
- find, questions easier to answer, and repetitive work easier to automate.
- We're looking for a senior full-stack engineer to help build this platform from the ground up, working across
- the entire stack and partnering closely with the business teams who will use it every day. This is a hands-on
- role for someone who wants to help shape a new product from its earliest stages — from architecture
- decisions through to what the end user actually sees and uses.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain both the frontend and backend of a new internal platform, from early
prototypes through production
- Build and maintain integrations between the platform and its underlying cloud and AI infrastructure
- Partner directly with the business teams who will use the platform, translating their day-to-day workflows
into working software
- Implement secure authentication, access control, and data governance appropriate for sensitive
business data
- Help define and improve engineering practices — testing, CI/CD, deployment, and observability — as
the platform matures
- Iterate quickly based on real usage and feedback, balancing speed with reliability
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with real production ownership across both
frontend and backend systems
- Strong Python skills, with hands-on experience in FastAPI or a comparable async Python web
framework
- Strong React + TypeScript experience
- Experience integrating LLM/AI APIs into production applications — agentic or tool-calling patterns are a
strong plus
- Experience with a major cloud provider (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP experience with a willingness to go
deep on Azure also considered)
- Experience with OAuth 2.0 / OIDC authentication flows
- Comfort working directly with non-technical business stakeholders to shape product requirements from
ambiguous starting points
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments
Nice to Have
- Experience with agent frameworks or tool-calling protocols (e.g., MCP)
- Experience with background job processing and Redis (or similar)
- Experience building products in a regulated or data-sensitive industry (healthcare, financial services, or
similar)
- Experience with enterprise document platforms (Box, SharePoint, or similar)
What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days
- Core platform infrastructure — authentication, the application shell, and the underlying data model — is
up and running
- The platform is answering real questions and handling real tasks for an initial group of users, with clear
traceability back to source data
- You're running regular working sessions with business stakeholders and have shipped the platform's
first end-to-end automated workflow
