About Wynn Al Marjan Island
Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. Set to open in 2027, the resort will be located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The resort will offer 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theater, and a beach club. It will feature multiple swimming and wading pools, water features, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.
About the Position
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Head Sommelier – Lebanese to join the resorts Beverage team.
The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are
- Lead and uphold Wynn Al Marjan Island values, wine program standards, and service excellence across the sommelier team.
- Act as a Wynn brand ambassador, building positive relationships with employees, members, guests, and business partners.
- Collaborate with the Administrative Wine Team and Membership Team to support projects, wine sales initiatives, and business growth opportunities.
- Oversee wine list development, team knowledge, and adherence to luxury wine service standards and safety requirements.
- Provide expert wine recommendations and personalized experiences tailored to members' and guests' preferences.
- Plan and lead wine tastings, educational seminars, team training sessions, and pre-shift briefings to enhance engagement and knowledge.
- Continuously develop wine expertise, support operational excellence, and perform additional leadership responsibilities as required.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications
- Minimum age of 21 years in accordance with alcohol service regulations and licensing requirements.
- 3-5 years of sommelier experience in a luxury hotel, fine-dining restaurant, or integrated resort environment.
- Certified Sommelier qualification (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, vintages, food pairing principles, and wine service techniques.
- Proven experience in wine list development, cellar management, inventory control, and maintaining stock levels.
- Strong leadership, communication, guest service, and team development skills, with experience training and mentoring staff.
- Fluent in English, proficient in POS systems, flexible to work varying schedules, and passionate about wine and hospitality.
