- Advice and provide legal support on regulatory matters, interpret and respond to government policies, and provide timely advice on current and upcoming laws and regulations affecting the Company’s business and operations and to ensure company operations comply with the same.
- Provide legal and regulatory guidance and support on timely responding to regulatory claims notices, show causes, regulatory correspondence, approvals, and compliance requirements, including preparation for and ensuring support during regulatory audits.
- Monitor and assess new government policies, laws, regulations, circulars, and regulatory developments; conduct research on international best practices on similar matters, advise relevant stakeholders on business implications, required actions, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure data privacy and related legal compliance requirements are appropriately reflected in business processes, digital initiatives, contractual arrangements, and legal documentation.
- Support the negotiation, drafting, review, vetting, and execution of commercial contracts to protect the Company’s interests and enable timely business transactions.
- Provide legal and regulatory support as the organization expands into new business verticals, including engagement with additional regulators, government stakeholders, partners, and other external parties.
- Manage increasing legal and regulatory correspondences, approvals, compliance requirements, and stakeholder engagements to ensure compliances, timely responses and uninterrupted business operations.
- Identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, contractual, financial, and reputational risks while providing practical solutions that support business continuity and commercial objectives.
- Engage and support for out-of-court dispute resolution.
- Support significant commercial and strategic projects by assessing legal and regulatory exposure, recommending mitigation measures, and ensuring execution within applicable laws, regulations, Company policies, and Group requirements.
Academic Qualification
- LL.B. (Hons.); preferably LL.M / Bar-at-Law.
Job Experience Required
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience;
Required Capabilities
- Knowledge of telecom legal and regulatory matters, including telecommunication Laws, regulations, guidelines, policies, circulars etc.
- Advanced knowledge of Company Law, Contract Law, IPR, Digital Security Law, data privacy requirements, and general corporate laws.
- Excellent contract drafting, reviewing, vetting, negotiation, and end-to-end contract execution capability.
- Advanced legal correspondences drafting skills.
- Advanced legal research skills.
- Strong dispute resolution ability.
- Strong ability to interpret government policies, laws, regulations, circulars, and regulatory directives and translate them into practical business guidance.
- Strong understanding of telecom commercial aspects to facilitate legal support for achieving commercial targets.
- Strong ability to identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, contractual, financial, and reputational risks.
- Knowledge of regulatory audit requirements and ability to coordinate effectively with regulatory authorities, government stakeholders, internal teams, and external counsel.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to manage high-volume regulatory and contractual correspondence and approvals.
