This role serves as a key member of the Redfern Technical Team in the planning, implementation, and support for all events that take place within the Redfern Arts Center at Keene State College, supporting both the technical execution and artistic realization of all live events, conferences, concerts, meetings, etc. while working as part of a team to maintain the operational readiness of the Redfern’s technical equipment.
This is an in-person role requiring on-site support for rehearsals, events, installations, and related preparation activities, including regular evening and weekend work based on performance and event schedules.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Sets up, maintains and operates sound, lighting, stage and other technical equipment and systems
- Ensures smooth operation of the technical aspects of all productions
- Monitors the condition of equipment including lighting, sound, and rigging equipment; performs preventive maintenance on equipment
- Maintains current knowledge of all equipment
- Stays abreast of new technology and software relative to lighting, video, and audio engineering.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Redfern Technical Director.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience
- High School Diploma
- Experience in Theatre, Entertainment Technology, Lighting Design, or a related field,
- Ability to troubleshoot technical systems, solve problems in fast-paced production e nvironments, and manage multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with artists, designers, production staff, clients, and colleagues while contributing to artistic and creative processes that enhance audience and guest experiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic production environment, adapt to changing priorities, work at heights using ladders, lifts, and catwalks, and safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Strong organizational practices that promote clean, safe, and orderly workspaces.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, including the ability to model, implement, promote, and enforce safe working practices while providing leadership and direction to stagehands and production crews.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, verbal, and computer skills, combined with professionalism, accountability, attention to detail, and ownership of projects through successful completion
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in theatrical lighting, audio, live event production, or related entertainment technology environments.
- Working knowledge of theatrical lighting, audio, and video systems and infrastructure.
- Experience with ETC Eos control systems and networking environments or comparable professional lighting control platforms.
- Experience with the Midas family of audio consoles, including patching, routing, and cabling of audio systems, speakers, monitors, and microphones.
- Proficiency creating and modifying Lightwright documentation, and other production paperwork used for planning and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand, interpret, and implement technical riders, lighting plots, and related production documentation

Compensation Pay Range
$25-$30 per hour
