Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting through the month end close and account reconciliation process

Job Expectations

Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place

Participate in monthly close process for certain entities, including journal entries and account reconciliations for various assigned complex accounts including intercompany accounts

Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances and preparing adjusting journal entries

Preparing various journal entries related to accrued liabilities

Reconciling prepaid expenses and record adjusting entries as needed

Preparing monthly variance analysis

Preparing account reconciliations

Support Accounts Payable with invoice and payment reconciliations

Review bank transactions and perform bank reconciliations

Analyze merchant fees

Reconcile payment processing to the GL

Providing support for audit requests

Assisting department staff as needed to meet strict deadlines

Researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP

Assist in audits and SOX compliance processes

Equipment Knowledge

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; G-Suite, SAP, Blackline (preferred)

Experience Requirements

Generally, requires a minimum of four (4) to five (5) years of related experience

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred, or a combination of education or equivalent work experience. Chartered Accountant and/or MBA preferred.
