Server Electrical Principal Engineer

Our Electrical Engineering team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing & the debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell Technologies and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality, and quality, as well as industry standards.

As a Principal Engineer, you will design complex circuits, coordinate layout, and lead validation activities for feature delivery. You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements, performance, and quality targets are met. Your engineering rigor will accelerate development cycles and improve product outcomes.

You will

• Create schematics and BOMs; define layout rules and review routing for compliance.
• Perform SI/PI simulations and tolerance analyses; define test procedures.
• Lead prototype bring-up and debugging; analyze results and implement fixes.
• Collaborate with suppliers on component selection and lifecycle risk.

Essential Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience in a professional role or equivalent experience.
• Strong circuit design skills across digital, analog, and power domains.
• Experience with EDA tools, simulation, and lab validation techniques.
• Ability to write clear documentation and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Ownership mindset and ability to prioritize effectively.

Desirable Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering .
• Certifications or training in SI/PI, reliability, or safety standards.
