Residential ASL & Rear Loader Driver – CDL Required

The purpose of this classification is to drive and operate heavy trucks, solid waste trucks, and other medium-sized equipment in support of residential solid waste collection and related operations. Employees operate and maneuver rear-loading, automated, semi-automated and other assigned solid waste vehicles along prescribed routes to safely and efficiently collect and transport refuse. Depending on the assigned vehicle and route, employees may also perform manual refuse collection duties, including retrieving, emptying, and returning residential waste containers. The position requires employees to safely operate vehicle-mounted collection mechanisms and perform related duties necessary to complete assigned routes and support departmental operations.
