Trainer II

The Reentry and Rehabilitation Division is seeking to hire a Trainer II (Correctional Educator) to provide classroom instruction to incarcerated individuals located at the Utah State Correctional Facility in Salt Lake City. Topics of instruction include but are not limited to life skills, and addressing criminogenic risk factors. The Trainer II will develop curriculum, deliver classroom instruction, track student progress, and collaborate with team members to facilitate organizational education processes. The ideal candidate will have: Experience developing lesson plans for classroom instruction Experience using some type of Learning Management System (LMS) Experience with in-person classroom and e-learning delivery methods. The ability to measure and assess student education progress The ability to successfully manage a classroom of adult learners The ability to diversify instruction based on students’ needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for continuous learning and engaging students in learning. A minimum of an Associate's degree with an emphasis in education, learning and development methods, or criminal justice.
