About The Role
Taghibiglou Laboratory is a part of College of Medicine Neuroscience Research Cluster located at the Health Science ground floor (B-Wing). The PI is affiliated with the Department of Anatomy, Physiology, and Pharmacology. Primary Purpose: This 37.5h/week position research technician/assistant (3-month) position has been created to enhance research productivity of Taghibiglou Neuroscience Laboratory. Nature of Work: Taghibiglou Laboratory focusses on neurobiology of concussion, neurodegenerative diseases and brain tumors using both in vitro (cell culture) and in vivo (rodent models) as well as postmortem brain tissues. Typical Duties or Accountabilities: We expect the successful recruited colleague to participate in buffer preparations, cell culture and maintenance, experimentations, including SDS-PAGE (such as Western blotting, qPCR, etc.), animal handling and in vivo experiments. Education: At least BSc. or MSc. degrees in Life Sciences with some work experience. Experience: At least 1 year work experience. Skills: General laboratory work knowledge including buffer preparation, cell culture and maintenance, tissue homogenization, SDS-PAGE gel preparation and Western blotting, rodent handling, and qPCR, etc.
