OUR ROLE
The
Maître d'
is responsible for the planning, direction, coordination and execution of all Front of House operations within the restaurant. The Maître d' is responsible for ensuring that all restaurant activities are carried out professionally, to standards and at the highest level of service. The Maître d' will achieve desired outcomes through assisting in the development and maintenance of a competent, motivated and empowered Front of House team. The Maître d' will effectively lead, train, coach, motivate, engage and provide feedback to Front of House associates on a daily basis.
Key accountabilities include
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Front of House operations during assigned shifts and ensure smooth, efficient, and professional restaurant service.
- Lead and support Front of House associates by providing direction, coaching, delegation, and real-time feedback.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities, service expectations, promotions, and operational updates.
- Monitor the restaurant floor, guest flow, table assignments, service timing, cleanliness, and overall presentation.
- Deliver exceptional guest service by welcoming guests, addressing concerns, handling service recovery, and supporting VIP and special occasion experiences.
- Coordinate effectively with Hosts, Servers, Bartenders, Culinary teams, and F&B leadership to ensure seamless service and communication.
- Ensure all opening, closing, and shift procedures are completed accurately and in accordance with hotel and brand standards.
- Assist with training and onboarding of Front of House associates and contribute to a positive and professional team environment.
- Monitor POS transactions, billing, cash handling, discounts, voids, and other financial procedures in accordance with hotel policies.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, liquor service, workplace safety, and hotel standards.
- Communicate operational concerns, maintenance issues, supply needs, and staffing requirements to F&B leadership.
- Support F&B leadership with special events, promotions, inventory, operational initiatives, and other duties as required.
YOUR STORY
- An experienced hospitality professional with a minimum of two years’ experience in a restaurant, hotel, or Front of House environment, preferably in a supervisory or lead role.
- A Hospitality, Tourism, or related program graduate or degree holder is considered an asset.
- Someone with an outstanding work ethic, strong reliability, punctuality, and a professional and approachable demeanor.
- Someone with strong leadership skills and the ability to train, coach, motivate, and engage a Front of House team.
- An exceptional problem-solver with the ability to handle guest concerns and resolve service-related situations efficiently and professionally.
- Strong guest service skills with a genuine passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and effectively manage multiple guest and operational needs in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- An excellent communicator who values teamwork, collaboration, and positive working relationships.
- Able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
- ProServe certification or equivalent responsible alcohol service certification is considered an asset.
