You’ll be: Safety Ensuring compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards. Performing routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment. Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues. Installing, maintaining, and upgrading electrical systems. Ensuring compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards. Actively engage in Drax's safety culture, using DATS to record safety conversations, observations, and training. Lead by example in promoting safety and contributing to all business areas. Support the leadership team in mentoring and training employees, ensuring proper training, competency, and documentation. Maintain high housekeeping standards within the department with all team members' participation. Utilize Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals used in production and ensure employees are trained in their use. Complete all safety-related Plant Operator Development Program training requirements as per each level. Adhere to Drax's Radio Usage Procedure, ensuring brief, clear, and essential communication. Actively participate in Drax's Occupational Health Safety Committee. Technical Responsibilities Routine Daily Maintenance Provide routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment ensuring adherence to safety, quality, productivity, and environmental standards. Install, maintain, inspect, and repair a wide variety of mechanical equipment. Work with other trades in a team environment to enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and production. Ensuring compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards. Shutdown and Strategic Capital Projects Provide expertise and assistance in project planning and execution. Work with maintenance team members and Drax staff to ensure project safety, efficiency, quality, and timely completion. Mentorship and Leadership Actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legislation and regulations. Mentor in-house Electrical Apprentices in their professional development. What you’ll bring: To excel in this vital role, you’ll need: Red Seal Certified Trades Professional. 5+ years of electrical experience, preferably in pellet, particle board, or fibre board industries. Ability to work independently with strong mechanical aptitude. Computer proficiency and familiarity with work order systems. Flexibility to adapt to changes in work schedules or tasks. Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Valid Driver’s license.
