Field Support Calibration Technician/Engineer

About The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Perform onsite calibration, adjustment, troubleshooting, and basic repair of electronic test and measurement equipment at customer locations across Germany.
- Execute moderate to high-complexity calibrations of General Purpose and RF instruments, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and multifunction calibrators.
- Apply ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, measurement uncertainty principles, and quality standards to ensure accurate and compliant calibration services.
- Create and maintain calibration records, certificates, labels, and service documentation using internal systems and calibration management software (including MET/CAL).
- Support the complete onsite calibration process, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within agreed customer timeframes.
- Serve as the primary Tektronix representative onsite, delivering outstanding customer support and technical guidance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of calibration procedures, quality processes, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Progressively take on team coordination and supervisory responsibilities as the onsite calibration business expands, while remaining actively involved in customer-facing calibration activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Metrology, Measurement Technology, or a related technical field.
- Several years of experience in electrical/electronic test and measurement calibration.
- Extensive hands-on experience with calibration, troubleshooting, and optimization of a broad range of electronic test and measurement instruments.
- Strong knowledge of metrology principles, ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, measurement uncertainty, and quality management systems.
- Experience with calibration software and automation tools; familiarity with MET/CAL is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office applications, and Excel.
- Excellent customer service, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
- Fluent in German and English, with willingness to travel extensively to customer sites and the motivation to grow into future leadership responsibilities.
