About The Role
Role Summary We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Web Content & CMS Development Intern with foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a content management system such as WordPress. The role provides hands-on exposure to website content publishing, template-based page creation, CMS administration, front-end updates and quality assurance within a digital experience environment. The intern will work with engineering and delivery teams to publish and maintain accurate , responsive and high-quality website experiences while progressively building deeper CMS and software development capabilities. Key Responsibilities Content Publishing & CMS Management Create, update and publish web pages using WordPress or a comparable CMS. Manage page content, images, documents, hyperlinks and other digital assets. Create new pages by reusing approved templates, layouts and CMS components. Configure content and components while following established publishing workflows. Ensure published content aligns with supplied design, brand, responsive and accessibility requirements. Perform pre-publishing and post-publishing content validation. Front-End Development Support Create and modify basic web pages using semantic HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Implement minor styling, layout and interaction updates under technical guidance. Troubleshoot basic formatting, responsive layout and browser-related issues. Support maintenance of existing templates and reusable website components. Use browser developer tools to inspect and diagnose basic front-end issues. Website Quality & Operations Validate page content, links, images, forms, layouts and responsive behaviour . Perform quality checks across supported browsers and devices. Identify content or presentation issues and coordinate their resolution . Follow version control, documentation, review and approval practices defined by the team. Support SEO-friendly publishing practices such as correct headings, metadata and meaningful links when guidance is provided. Learning & Collaboration Learn CMS concepts, web development standards and digital experience platform practices. Complete structured learning assignments and apply feedback to subsequent work. Collaborate with developers, content teams and delivery stakeholders. Communicate progress, questions, dependencies and risks clearly and promptly. Demonstrate curiosity, ownership and the ability to learn new tools quickly. Required Qualifications Education Completed Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, Computer Applications, Software Engineering or a related computing field. Experience 0 to 1 year of relevant experience in web development, CMS management, content publishing or a related area . Academic projects, internships, freelance assignments or personal projects may be considered as relevant experience. Essential Technical Skills Foundational understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. Basic working knowledge of WordPress or another content management system. Understanding of website structure, page templates, reusable components and content publishing workflows. Basic knowledge of responsive web design and browser developer tools. Core Competencies Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability. Fast learner who can adapt to new tools, processes and requirements. Good written and verbal communication skills . Attention to detail, quality and content accuracy. Ability to collaborate effectively and take ownership of assigned tasks. Preferred Qualifications Programming foundation: Knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java, Python, C#, PHP or C++ is preferred. Up to one year of related experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Understanding of core Object-Oriented Programming concepts, including classes and objects, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism and abstraction. Ability to apply programming fundamentals through academic work, internships, freelance assignments, personal projects or professional experience. Exposure to WordPress themes, plugins, page builders, custom post types or Advanced Custom Fields is an advantage. Basic familiarity with PHP, APIs, databases, web application architecture or Git/version control is beneficial. Basic awareness of SEO and accessible content publishing practices is desirable. Expected Outcomes During the Internship Publish and maintain content independently within an approved CMS workflow. Create new pages using existing templates and configured CMS components. Complete basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript changes with appropriate review . Perform reliable content and presentation quality checks before release. Diagnose straightforward issues and escalate complex issues with clear supporting information. Demonstrate measurable improvement in CMS, front- end and programming fundamentals. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate combines an interest in website content management with a desire to grow into broader CMS and web development responsibilities. The individual should be comfortable starting with structured content publishing and quality assurance tasks, while progressively developing stronger front-end, CMS configuration and programming capabilities.
