About The Role
We’re hiring immediately, and we will train you ! Whether you are just starting your career, or have some phlebotomy experience, we’re here to help you leverage the extensive phlebotomy training provided, develop your talents, and perform at your best. Your impact as a Mobile Phlebotomist is vital. You will assist Vitalant’s donor care team in setting up blood drives at locations withing a 200-mile range while creating comfortable, convenient, and consistent blood donation experiences for our donors. Every day you will help save lives and have a vital impact on your community.
What to Expect
Schedule
Sunday through Saturday, Five days a week, variable hours between the hours of 6am-8pm based on business needs, Every other weekend required.
Commute & Travel to Blood Drives
Your assigned reporting location will depend on the mobile team to which you are assigned. Based on your assignment, you may either meet your team at the Greentree location and travel together to the blood drive or report directly to the designated blood drive site.
Travel is a regular part of this position. Mileage reimbursement is provided at the current IRS reimbursement rate for eligible business travel.
Current Mobile Team Openings
Mobile Team 5
- Serves northern Pittsburgh , including Lawrence, Venango, Mercer, and Crawford Counties
- Travels to Erie, PA
- Supports the Crawford/Meadville Donation Centers on Sundays and Mondays
- Requires travel to the Greentree location .
Blood Mobile Driver - Mobile 7 Team
CDL required — candidates must already have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or be willing to obtain one after hire. The role involves traveling to all locations as part of the mobile operations team.
Mobile Team 9
- Serves Downtown Pittsburgh and Oakland
- Requires travel to the Greentree location.
Mobile Team 16
- Serves Oakland and Downtown Pittsburg h areas
- Requires travel to the Greentree location
Base Pay
$18.64 - $19.69 / Hour

Training Information
Training for this role lasts approximately 12 weeks and is based out of our Greentree location .
- Weeks 1–2: Classroom and hands-on training with a trainer, including travel to various Donation Centers and mobile sites.
- Weeks 3–4: Field experience alongside a preceptor on mobile drives and at site locations.
- Weeks 5–12: Continued training in specific skilled areas could include Phlebotomy , Medical Interview , Alyx , and Trima (approximately 4 weeks per area).
- After successfully completing training and final assessments at Greentree, team members may continue to travel to various fixed and mobile site locations as part of their regular schedule.
