Specialised Carer - Dementia Care

HammondCare Daw Park is currently looking for an experienced Permanent Part-time Specialised Carers - Dementia Care to join our team.

Roster available (experience of 2+ years essential)

Week 1 - Mon-Thurs 14:30-20:00; Week 2 - Tues-Thurs 14:30-20:00; Friday 06:45-14:45 (46 hour fortnight)

With our unique model of care which places the residents’ needs as your number one priority, you will help create a home away from home for our residents. This role requires you to provide tailored care including personal support within

You will be responsible for

• Personal care – showering, grooming, toileting etc supporting men and women
• Provide life engagement
• Support residents with levels of dementia
• Recognise, report and respond appropriately to changes in the conditions of residents within your skills and competencies

All new staff will complete an onsite orientation with a Workplace Trainer, have buddy shifts and be supported by experienced Registered Nurses and Managers on site.

To be successful in this role, you will

• Relevant Certificate III is mandatory.
• Experience of 2+ years in aged care is essential
• Be flexible and able to commit to the above roster
• Able to work consistant days is essential. Example: Monday-Wednesday AM shift; or Thursday-Sunday PM shift
• Have a genuine passion for serving elderly people & want to make a difference in their lives
• Value teamwork but also be able to work independently and show initiative
• Have knowledge & experience of people living with Dementia & their needs
