Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Management Accountant professional to join our UK Accounting team. The role will be responsible for managing Accounts Payable, Treasury Operations, and Month-End Management Accounting activities for UK-based clients. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, variance analysis, reporting packs, and stakeholder management. Prior experience working with UK-based BPO/KPO organizations, student accommodation businesses, hospitality, or multi-site environments will be an added advantage. The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for clients, operations teams, and finance stakeholders while ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, process improvements, and timely month-end closure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Accounts Payable (AP) Manage the end-to-end Purchase Ledger function efficiently. Process supplier invoices accurately and within agreed timelines. Resolve supplier queries and finance team requests promptly. Ensure vendor payments are processed timely and accurately. Perform supplier statement reconciliations and ledger reviews. Process weekly supplier payment runs. Follow up with suppliers for missing invoices and supporting documents. Support audit requirements and ad-hoc reporting requests. Maintain compliance with agreed service levels and KPIs. 2. Treasury & Banking Operations Perform daily bank reconciliations and income reconciliations. Upload and process direct bank transfers. Manage student receipts, deposits, refunds, and related reconciliations. Process bank transactions and maintain accurate accounting records. Review contracts and raise sales invoices accordingly. Reconcile transactions across multiple systems and investigate discrepancies. Collaborate with site staff and operational teams to resolve finance-related queries. Ensure timely processing of receipts, refunds, and banking transactions. 3. Management Accounting & Month-End Reporting Prepayments Record and maintain prepayment journals. Amortize prepaid expenses based on service periods. Update and maintain prepayment schedules. Accruals Prepare and reverse accrual entries. Record new accruals for unbilled liabilities. Maintain accurate accrual schedules. Journal Entries Process payroll journals and payroll accruals. Record landlord payments and intercompany recharge entries. Post rental income and other month-end adjustments. Prepare and post all required journal entries. General Ledger Review Review nominal ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness. Identify duplicate, missing, or incorrectly recorded transactions. Ensure proper treatment of accruals and prepayments. Investigate and resolve unusual balances and accounting discrepancies. 4. Financial Reporting Prepare monthly Management Accounts. Run Trial Balance and Nominal Activity reports. Perform detailed Variance Analysis and provide commentary. Prepare management reporting packs and client reports. Prepare funding statements and cash flow projections. Support quarterly forecasting and budgeting activities. Assist with client audits and audit information requests. 5. Balance Sheet Reconciliations Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations. Identify and resolve reconciling items. Ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully supported and accurate. 6. Stakeholder & Client Management Act as the primary contact for Accommodation Managers, Operations Managers, Finance Managers, and external clients. Build strong client relationships through proactive communication. Participate in client meetings and provide financial insights. Ensure high levels of customer service and issue resolution. 7. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls. Support automation and efficiency initiatives. Contribute to standardization and best-practice accounting processes. Drive continuous improvement across finance operations. Key Success Measures 100% Month-End Reporting Completion within agreed timelines. 98%+ Accuracy in journal postings, reconciliations, and reporting. Timely Resolution of supplier and client queries within SLA. Zero High-Risk Audit Findings related to assigned accounts. 100% Completion of Balance Sheet Reconciliations every month. Effective Cash Flow & Forecast Reporting with minimal variances. Continuous Process Improvement initiatives implemented annually. Strong Client Satisfaction Scores through proactive stakeholder management Skills & Experience Educational Qualification Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. ACCA / CIMA / CA Inter (Preferred). Experience 4 to 6 years of experience in Accounting, General Ledger, or Management Accounting. Experience within UK Accounting processes is highly preferred. Prior experience in Student Accommodation, Hospitality, Real Estate, or Multi-site businesses is advantageous. Experience in BPO/KPO finance operations will be an added advantage. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of: Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations, Prepayments & Accruals, Journal Entries, Variance Analysis, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Cash Flow Forecasting & Management Reporting Experience with Xero, Agent OS, or similar accounting systems preferred. Excellent communication and client management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Team-oriented with a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Shift Time – 12:30 PM IST to 10:00 PM IST/1:30 PM IST to 11:00 PM IST
