Your day at NTT DATA The Associate IT Systems Administrator is an entry level subject matter expert, responsible for developing the skills to support the troubleshooting and maintenance of computer servers and networks. This role is responsible for assisting with the continuous availability of networks and systems by effectively identifying network and system requirements, installing upgrades and monitoring performance. Key responsibilities: Assists with planning, configuring, testing of server hardware, software, local area network and wide area networks. Supports the installation, configuration and upgrading of servers in line with policy and system requirements. Assists with ensuring that application software is available to users. With guidance, tests, installs, configures and upgrades existing application software. Assists with pre-determined changes to the system, including the application software requirements for such changes. Works closely with the relevant internal stakeholders to ensure that the system is updated with the most recent version of the application software available. Assists with the creation of new users and configures and resets passwords. Assists with documenting, maintaining and communicating policies to all users. Assists with locking and unlocking user accounts as and when required. Determines and verifies access requirements and ensures that the necessary approvals are obtained Assists with the removal and restricting of access. Assists with ensuring the back-up of important files to enable system restoration and minimal disruption in the event of a hardware, security or administration failure. Supports the upkeep of system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis and performance tuning. Performs routine network start up and shut down procedures to maintain system performance. Performs any other related task as required. To thrive in this role, you need to have: Entry level knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and related policies and procedures. Some understanding internet technologies including basic web-editing skills. Some understanding Relational Database Management systems and Structured Query Language. Entry level knowledge of TCP/IP, LANs and WAN. Knowledge of computer hardware and diagnostics. Understanding of VoIP (voice over internet protocol technology). Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals (both internal and external stakeholders). Awareness of IT security standards and practice. Entry level understanding of Microsoft Applications/infrastructure. Entry level capability of resolving critical software and hardware issues in a time sensitive manner. Entry level knowledge of methods, tools and equipment used in the installation and service of hardware and software. Academic qualifications and certifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field. Relevant certification such as MCSA, MCSE, MCITP is beneficial. Required experience: Basic experience administering Microsoft Office 365. Basic previous experience as a System Administrator. Basic experience working with Microsoft operating systems, system administration, and system security experience.
